Celebrating The Nature of Place: Ask Me (Us) Anything

We have been working on something amazing for quite some time, now… The Nature of Place: Personal Narratives in Landscape Photography—our new collaborative ebook from Circle of Light—launches on Earth Day, April 22nd, and we want to celebrate with you!

On Sunday, April 26, all six of us—Anna Morgan, Charlotte Gibb, Claudia Welsh, Jennifer Renwick, Michele Sons, and Sarah Marino—will be here together for a day-long Ask Me Anything. We'll answer your questions about the book, about our individual practices, about finding your own sense of place through photography, and whatever else is on your mind.

This project has been a deeply personal one for each of us. The Nature of Place grew out of our individual journeys of learning to truly see and belong to the landscapes we photograph. We'd love for this conversation to reflect that same spirit—curious, open, and genuine.

Michele Sons

Michele is a landscape and nature photographer, writer, and educator based in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. An academic and professional background in geography and a nomadic early life inform her creative process which is rooted in connection and expression. Michele's work tends toward quiet, pared-down representations of her deep reverence for the natural world. She is a lover of fog, mist, and soft light.
